I hesitated calling this a bad idea since it did inspire wild storms of imagination in the children that used it; and that's good isn't it?
While fun and interesting the biggest thing about the Mego Supervator is... well, WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS SUPPOSED TO BE???
You clamped that green part to a door or the back of a chair and put your action figure in the harness thingie.
(It's not a doll damnit, it's an action figure)
A long length of plastic cord went out to a handle, you would raise your arm and gravity would zip-line the figure towards the green thing. If you hit the target a little villan card would pop out and if you were really good, you would stick the "nasty secret plans" to an oven mit.
On impact the harness spun so that the figure is now facing you. Drop your arm down and the hero will slide back to you, plans in hand.
Reset everything and do it again.
Loads of fun.
