i was taking for granted all the passion sent my way
how he would want to talk or text most every single day
how he wanted to do things to me most intimate and dark
how i thought he was not what i wanted from the very start
as time's toll took back all the cobwebs in my head
i started to feel warmth inside my empty cold bed
telling myself it was nothing more than fantasy and flesh
i stole to his side in shadows of night so boldly our bodies could mesh
but i chose to walk a different path and call him just a friend
i can't undo decisions culminating in our romantic dead-end
so now we are about to learn how to truly just "hang out"
fuck buddies no more, he has a girlfriend...
