| "Persuade me." "Of what?" I wondered aloud. He was always doing this, posing these mandates as if I could drop everything and think things through for once. "Just persuade me." I paused and began to clean my glasses to buy some time. He knew all my "thinking" motions were just that, motions. But, as per usual, he was too polite to call me out on stalling. "Well, let's see...even though you're colorblind, I can tell you with relative certainty that the sky is blue--" "Not valid. Try again." "Listen, if you're just going to cut me off when I'm deigning to even play your stupid game--" He chuckled quietly as I trail back off into my thoughts. He knew I wasn't an arguer, which is why he wanted me to worked on my persuasion in the first place. "It's been scientifically proven that gasoline--" "By who?" "I have no idea." "Not valid. Try harder this time. Something within your realm of knowledge would be nice." I turned to walk away. Unperturbed, he caught up in three strides and kept pace with me easily. I intended to ignore him all the way to the train station if need be. But, true to impatient form, I glared at him and spat out what I hoped would get him off my back. "I love you." "Persuade me." | |||||
